Greg Odom Article on GIPA Published in IDC Quarterly


Baker Sterchi Member Greg Odom’s article, “From BIPA to GIPA: Another Four-Letter Word in Illinois Class Action Litigation,” was recently featured in the third-quarter edition of the Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) Quarterly. The article explores the Genetic Information Privacy Act (GIPA), including its background, definitions and litigation trends.

Odom, based in the firm’s Belleville office, is an experienced trial attorney focusing on mass toxic tort and commercial litigation in Illinois and Missouri state and federal courts. He serves on the IDC Board of Directors and the Toxic Torts Committee and contributes as an author and editor for the IDC’s Survey of Law. Odom also co-chairs Baker Sterchi’s Toxic Tort Practice Group.

The Illinois Defense Counsel is a professional organization for attorneys who defend civil lawsuits in areas such as personal injury, toxic torts, professional liability, product liability and commercial litigation. The IDC Quarterly, which features scholarly articles on tort topics and defense issues, is distributed to more than 1,800 recipients each quarter.
