Baker Sterchi Member Greg Odom to Present to Members of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce on Illinois COVID-19 Executive Order No. 56

On December 1, Baker Sterchi Member Greg Odom will present a virtual program on Illinois COVID-19 Executive Order No. 56 as it relates to potential legal consequences for restaurants.

Hosted by the Jefferson County Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the presentation will focus on the legal arguments being made for and against the order, the potential impact of recent court rulings related to the order, and the current status of legal challenges to the order. The presentation also will address issues restaurants should consider when determining whether to allow in-person dining. This includes possible OSHA standards that might apply to COVID-19, types of lawsuits that could be filed against restaurants and other businesses by people that contract COVID-19, and whether insurance would provide coverage for such lawsuits.

Odom, located in Baker Sterchi’s Belleville, Illinois office, is an experienced trial attorney with a practice focused on defending clients in mass toxic torts and commercial litigation. He represents individuals, local businesses, and Fortune 500 companies in state and federal courts across Illinois and Missouri, with an emphasis on defending clients in southern Illinois and the metropolitan St. Louis region.

Odom earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2008 and his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University in 2005. He is licensed to practice in Illinois, Missouri, and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Missouri.

Odom’s presentation begins at 3:00 PM CST on December 1.  For more information or to register, click here.
