Tom Sterchi is a founding member of the firm and served as its co-chair from 2014-2020 and as chair of the firm's Executive Committee from 1990-2013. An experienced trial lawyer, Tom has successfully defended manufacturers of products including pharmaceuticals and medical devices in a number of state and federal courts, attaining a worldwide reputation. He has served as national coordinating trial counsel in litigation on numerous products, most notably pharmaceutical products for some of the world’s largest companies and is serving as national trial counsel for a prominent contrast media company. He also served as lead trial counsel in high-profile cases involving tampons (toxic shock syndrome), antibiotics, and breast implants.

Tom has extensive experience in mass torts and multidistrict litigation, His class action defense work includes having successfully defeated class action attempts against the manufacturers of pharmaceutical and medical device products.
