Baker Sterchi Member Bob Christie has been appointed by the King County Executive to serve on the Deadly Incident Review and Recommendation Panel, a volunteer commission tasked with reviewing the outcomes of inquest proceedings and making policy recommendations aimed at reducing deaths and injuries during law enforcement interactions in King County.
Christie, based in the firm’s Seattle office, is a veteran trial attorney with a practice focused on defending professionals, businesses, government entities, law enforcement officers and individuals in high-exposure matters. He is a member of several peer-selected defense organizations, including the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, International Association of Defense Counsel and Lawyers for Civil Justice, where he serves on the board of directors.
A past president and board chair of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, Christie has also served as a faculty member and guest presenter at the IADC Trial Academy. He co-chairs Baker Sterchi’s Trial & Appellate Practice Group. He earned his law degree from Seattle University School of Law and is admitted to practice in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Christie joins the panel, which includes professionals from law enforcement accountability, civil rights, behavioral health and the legal system, bringing decades of experience representing government entities and law enforcement officers, as well as practical insight to support its mission of reducing deaths and injuries during law enforcement interactions in King County.
