While jury trials in the Kansas City area have fallen back to pandemic-era levels, we did see an overall increase in the average jury award compared to prior years. Overall, 2024 saw a decline in jury trials but an increase in the average value of verdicts when compared to prior years. Even with the area's decline in jury trials, Jackson County continues to be the most Plaintiff friendly venue in the Kansas City area.
